SAD; Motorcyclist killed in Loyalsock Township crash

Loyalsock Township, PA – A tight-knit community is in mourning after a young motorcyclist was tragically killed in a two-vehicle collision Wednesday evening. The crash, which occurred at a busy intersection, is now under a full investigation by the Pennsylvania State Police.

The victim has been identified as 21-year-old John Doe, a resident of the Warrensville Road area, according to a statement from the Lycoming County Coroner’s Office.

The fatal incident took place at approximately 9:15 p.m. on Wednesday, June 18, 2025, at the intersection of East Third Street and Old Montoursville Road. State Police report that Doe was operating his motorcycle, traveling eastbound on the I-180 exit ramp, when the collision with a passenger vehicle occurred.

Emergency crews were dispatched to the scene within minutes, where they found Doe with critical injuries. He was immediately transported to UPMC Williamsport for emergency medical treatment. Despite the best efforts of medical staff, Doe was pronounced dead at 9:50 p.m. The coroner has determined the cause of death to be blunt force trauma.

Details regarding the second vehicle and its driver have not yet been released by authorities, pending further investigation. It is currently unknown if any other injuries were sustained in the crash.

The intersection of East Third Street and Old Montoursville Road, along with the adjacent I-180 ramp, was closed for several hours on Wednesday night as the Pennsylvania State Police conducted their initial investigation and accident reconstruction. The roadway has since been reopened to traffic.
