Head-On Collision Claims Two Lives Near Rockford
ROCKFORD, Ill. – The Winnebago County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a devastating head-on crash that resulted in the deaths of two individuals. The fatal incident occurred at the intersection of Bates Road and Freeport Road.
Deputies were dispatched to the scene following a report of a serious traffic accident. Upon arrival, they found a black Dodge Ram pickup truck and a grey Ford Focus had collided.
According to the initial investigation, the two vehicles were involved in a head-on collision at the intersection. The sole occupant of each vehicle was pronounced deceased at the scene, authorities confirmed.
The identities of the deceased are being withheld pending notification of next of kin.
