Both drivers hurt in Kirksville SUV crash; 1 vehicle overturned
Two Injured in Two-Vehicle Collision Near Kirksville
Kirksville, MO – Two individuals were transported to a local hospital with minor injuries following a two-vehicle crash Wednesday morning on State Highway 11, approximately five miles northeast of Kirksville.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports that the collision occurred around 8:30 a.m. when a northbound 2015 Toyota Sienna was struck by a westbound 2012 GMC Yukon.
According to the official incident report, the driver of the Toyota, a 26-year-old female from Kirksville, sustained minor injuries. A passenger in the GMC Yukon, a 29-year-old female, also from Kirksville, was also reported to have minor injuries. Both individuals were transported by Adair County Ambulance to Northeast Regional Medical Center for treatment.
The driver of the GMC Yukon, a 40-year-old male from Kirksville, was not reported to have been injured in the collision.
At this time, it is not immediately clear if any citations were issued. The Missouri State Highway Patrol is continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash. There has been no official statement regarding the cause of the collision or whether any vehicles overturned.
Local emergency services, including the Adair County Sheriff’s Department and Adair County Ambulance District, responded to the scene. Traffic in the area was temporarily affected as crews worked to clear the roadway.
