One Dead in Far South Coast Highway Rollover

BEMBOKA, NSW – A man has died following a single-vehicle rollover on the Snowy Mountains Highway on the state’s Far South Coast in the early hours of Friday morning.

Emergency services were called to the scene near Bemboka, approximately 470km south of Sydney, at around 4:20 am on March 14, 2025, following reports of a truck crash.

Upon arrival, officers from the South Coast Police District found a truck that had left the roadway. The driver and sole occupant of the vehicle, a man believed to be in his 30s, was found deceased at the scene.

A crime scene was established, and the Snowy Mountains Highway was closed in both directions for a significant period while the Crash Investigation Unit commenced inquiries into the circumstances surrounding the incident.

The highway has since reopened, but police are appealing for any witnesses or anyone with dashcam footage of the truck in the lead-up to the crash to come forward.

A report will be prepared for the information of the Coroner.
