Teen Motorcyclist Killed in Collision with Semi-Truck in Warren County

WARREN COUNTY – A somber cloud hangs over the Warren County community following a devastating collision that claimed the life of a 17-year-old motorcyclist Tuesday morning. The teenager was fatally injured after being struck by a semi-truck at the intersection of State Route 32 and County Road 15.

The Warren County Sheriff’s Office confirmed the identity of the deceased as local high school student, Michael C. Henderson.

According to the preliminary investigation, Henderson was traveling eastbound on his motorcycle on County Road 15 shortly before 8:00 a.m. As he approached the intersection with State Route 32, a northbound semi-truck, operated by a 48-year-old male, entered the intersection, resulting in the collision.

Emergency services were dispatched to the scene within minutes. Paramedics from the Warren County Fire and Rescue administered aid to Henderson, who was then transported to Warren County General Hospital. Despite the efforts of medical personnel, he was pronounced dead upon arrival.

The driver of the semi-truck was not physically harmed in the incident but was visibly shaken. He is cooperating fully with the ongoing investigation. At this time, no charges have been filed, and authorities are working to reconstruct the accident to determine the exact cause.

The intersection of State Route 32 and County Road 15 was closed for several hours as the Sheriff’s Office Accident Investigation Unit processed the scene. Traffic was rerouted, causing significant delays for morning commuters. The roadway has since been reopened.

The Warren County High School District has been notified of the tragedy and will have grief counselors available for students and staff. In a statement, Superintendent Dr. Arlene Jacobs expressed her profound sorrow: “Our hearts are heavy with the loss of one of our own. Michael was a bright and promising young man, and his absence will be deeply felt throughout our school community. We extend our sincerest condolences to his family and friends during this incredibly difficult time.”

The Sheriff’s Office is urging any witnesses to the crash who have not yet come forward to contact them with any information that may aid in the investigation.
